Mountain Terrain/Lift Opening & Closing Schedule Every year, when the leaves begin to change color and the temperatures start to dip, our guests start getting excited to ski in Vail. We have a great window for skiing in Vail and our visitors can head down our slopes for nearly half of the year. This year, Vail Mountain is scheduled to open November 16, 2012 and close April 14, 2013.
